Fort St. John Job Fair, April 25/24

The energy was electric at the Fort St. John Job Fair this year, and I was right in the middle of it all, sparking interest in careers in the electrical trade. The IBEW 993 booth was a hub of activity as I shared the exciting opportunities that a career in electrical work can offer, and how IBEW 993 is empowering the workforce through training, support, and unity.

As I interacted with the attendees, I highlighted the benefits of joining a union, especially one with the history and reputation of IBEW 993. I also emphasized the Union’s commitment to ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and continuous skill development for its members. This resonated deeply with many, as they learned that being part of IBEW 993 is not just about a job; it’s about being part of a community that looks out for each other.

I shared stories of successful projects and career trajectories made possible through the support of IBEW 993. By the end of the day, a few electricians had signed up for more information on how to join the union, excited about the possibilities that lay ahead.

The fair also provided an excellent platform to introduce aspiring electricians to the trade. I met with many individuals interested in starting their journey in the electrical industry, and answered questions, provided guidance, and shared information about the training programs available through IBEW 993, giving them a clear pathway to start their careers.

In conclusion, IBEW 993's presence at the Fort St. John Job Fair was a success, as I hopefully inspired many to consider a future in electrical work and strengthened the union by signing up new members.
