Members of IBEW 993 gathered at the Union Hall in Kamloops this past Wednesday for another AWP and Fall Arrest training session as part of our Job Ready Dispatch (JRD) program.

Training like this is a key part of who we are as IBEW members. Our work often takes us into challenging environments where there is no room for guesswork. AWP and Fall Arrest training helps ensure that our members understand the equipment, the procedures, and the responsibilities that come with working at height. Safety is always part of our day to day and not an afterthought.

The JRD program is about more than just ticking boxes. It is about making sure that when our members arrive on site, they are prepared, confident, and ready to contribute from day one. By investing in training, we are investing in our members and in the contractors who count on IBEW 993 for a skilled and reliable workforce.

At IBEW 993, we talk about “Showing up better.” That means showing up trained, showing up safe, and showing up ready to work. The members who took part in AWP and Fall Arrest training this week are a strong example of that commitment in action.
