Combo Fall Pro & AWP Course at the Prince George IBEW Centre of Excellence Yesterday

IBEW 993 recently held a Combo Fall Protection and Aerial Work Platform (AWP) course at the Prince George Centre of Excellence. This training is part of our Job Ready Dispatch (JRD) program.
Since our last collective agreement in 2023, AWP and Fall Pro training are required for all IBEW job sites across British Columbia. Every member must have these certifications before being dispatched. This helps make sure our members are ready to start work safely and without delay.
Contractors know they can count on IBEW members to be fully trained and prepared when they show up to the job.
Having these certifications before being dispatched helps us stand out from the rest. It shows that IBEW members are serious about safety and ready to work.
If you're a member of IBEW 993 and do not have current certifications for AWP, Fall Pro, SiteReadyBC (or CSTS & WHMIS), and a hearing test within the last year, you need to get your training up to date. Check out the Western JETS website at https://wjets.ca. We're running courses on a regular basis, but if you don't see one near you, you can submit a training request on the Western JETS website.
