IBEW 993 Organizer James Olson recently represented our Local at the Fort St. John Job Fair, speaking with attendees about opportunities in the electrical trade and the benefits of becoming part of the IBEW.
As a Local with a large and diverse jurisdiction, it is important that IBEW 993 continues to grow our exposure in every community we represent. Job fairs and outreach events give us the chance to connect directly with people who may be considering a career in the trades, but may not yet know what the IBEW has to offer.
This outreach is especially important when it comes to reaching Indigenous communities, underrepresented groups, and people from all walks of life. A strong apprenticeship program depends on attracting quality candidates with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. The more people we reach, the stronger our Local becomes.
By attending events like the Fort St. John Job Fair, IBEW 993 is working to build awareness, create opportunities, and ensure that the future of our trade reflects the communities we live and work in.
Thank you to James Olson for representing IBEW 993 and helping promote our trade, our apprenticeship opportunities, and the value of union membership throughout our jurisdiction.
