Albany Brazing Training

Successful training with IBEW 993 members in Albany, NY, in partnership with Voith preparing for the generator work at Site C.

Great experience and knowledge gained as all were required to cut, polish, and inspect our brazed specimens using different processes as part of the certification process.

We used microscopes and black light to inspect for contamination and practiced many different brazing techniques that will be used on the job...including some entertaining "destructive" tests to ensure desired molecular bonds were achieved, see their microscopic compositions and fracturing tendencies due to the effects of over-heating, re-heating joints, and incorrect applications.
