VANCOUVER - The B.C. government is offering $10 million for job training projects over the next three years.

Jobs Minister Pat Bell says business and industrial groups facing labour shortages can apply for funding under the program, with up to $500,000 available for each training project that's approved.

The program is aimed at preparing the unemployed and those with few skills for jobs across a range of occupations from retail to industrial.

That includes training for shipbuilding work after the North Vancouver firm Seaspan won a $8-billion federal shipbuilding contract last month.
