The Kamloops Food Bank is one of IBEW 993’s ongoin sponsorships. The Food Bank was founded in 1981 by Mr. Hank Woodland at the Kamloops United Church as a way to assist people through the devastating effects of the high inflation rates of the early 1980’s.
In 2013 the Kamloops Food Bank completed a building renovation and expansion. A&T Project Development was key to the completion of this project.
The Kamloops Food Bank Operates independently and is a member in good standing of the Food Banks of British Columbia and an affiliates member of Food Banks of Canada.
- 40 community agencies receive food to support their meal programs
- 7000 individuals accessed the services at the Kamloops Food Bank in 2016
- 32% of our clients are children under 18
- 62% are adults
- 6% are seniors
