Members of IBEW Local 993 joined the Kamloops & District Labour Council rally in a powerful display of solidarity with the striking members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). The rally highlighted a fundamental truth that drives the labour movement: when one of us fights for fairness, we all fight for fairness.

As members of IBEW 993, we know the value of unity in the face of challenges. Our brothers and sisters in CUPW are standing up for the simple right to fair wages, safe working conditions, and the dignity of putting food on the table for their families. These are values we all share as union members, and it’s vital that we show up to support each other in times of need.

Unions have always been strongest when we stand together, shoulder to shoulder, across industries and trades. The issues faced by CUPW today could easily face any of us tomorrow, which is why our support is not just an act of solidarity but an investment in the strength of the labour movement as a whole.

The IBEW has long been a leader in advocating for fairness, safety, and respect in the workplace. By attending rallies like this one, our members demonstrate the critical role we play in promoting and upholding these principles—not just for ourselves but for all workers striving for justice.

Let us continue to build bridges with our union brothers and sisters, showing that the spirit of solidarity remains strong. Together, we can ensure that every worker, in every trade and industry, has the opportunity to thrive. Thank you to all IBEW 993 members who stood proudly with CUPW at this important rally. Your support matters, and your presence makes a difference.
