Mark your calendars for the Annual KDLC Labour Day Picnic on September 5th, 2016, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the McDonald Park Bandshell on the North Shore. This year we will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary representing working people in our region and we want this year’s picnic to be bigger, bolder and better than ever! We will feature local musicians, free kids activities, union swag prizes and giveaways, free ice-cream and drinks, BBQ by IBEW by donation, and multiple displays by labour and community organizations.

We are encouraging your organization’s participation in this years event. To reserve a spot and a free table for your display, please contact Lois Rugg at lrugg@gmail.com. If you need special accommodations for your display, let Lois know as soon as possible.

The KDLC is also seeking financial donations to help cover the costs of the picnic and any amount is appreciated. Don’t forget to bring your Union swag for give aways and for prize packs, and you may want to consider bringing a tent for protection from the weather.

We are expecting a huge turnout this year to celebrate our 60th Anniversary but also, with the opening of the new waterpark, there could be considerably more foot traffic than usual. This will be a great opportunity for labour to shine in our community and we hope that you will be part of it.
