IBEW 993 Organizer James Olson recently ran a Comet and Code of Excellence course in Whitehorse, bringing important union education to members in the northern part of our jurisdiction.
Education is one of the most important tools we have as a union. Whether it is learning how to represent members as a Shop Steward, understanding the history and purpose of the IBEW through COMET, or building leadership and supervision skills on the job, these courses help strengthen our members, our workplaces, and our Local as a whole.
IBEW 993 represents a large and diverse jurisdiction, and it is important that training opportunities are not limited to one area. By putting on courses in every corner of our jurisdiction, we ensure members have access to the education and resources they need, no matter where they live or work.
Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make this course possible. The strength of IBEW 993 comes from engaged, educated members who are prepared to stand up for one another and lead by example.
