Stronger Together: Brian Andrews and Jaron Boon of Houle Electric

IBEW 993 is proud to work with some of the best electrical contractors in Western Canada. One of those contractors is Houle Electric in Kamloops. Recently, Brian Andrews, our organiser, visited Jaron Boon, the local branch manager of Houle, for a chat and a photo to support our latest campaign.

Houle and IBEW 993 have worked together for years. The strong relationship shows what can happen when union labour and good contractors work side by side. “Working with IBEW 993 has helped us grow and maintain a reliable, skilled workforce,” said Jaron. “We know our electricians are well trained and ready to take on any challenge.”

Houle Electric is a long-time signatory contractor with IBEW 993. That means they hire union members, pay fair wages, follow safety standards, and support apprenticeships. They help build careers and projects that last. From hospitals to schools and commercial sites, Houle is known for doing the job right and safe.

Brian Andrews, the organiser who has been at the centre of our recent social media campaign, was proud to stand with Jaron. “When we talk about strong partnerships, this is what we mean,” Brian said. “This photo is more than a picture. It shows respect, teamwork, and a shared commitment to the trades.”

In a time when some contractors try to block union organisers from job sites, it is important to highlight the success of those who work with us, not against us. Houle Electric proves that union contractors can compete, succeed, and lead in the industry.
