Thanksgiving Message From IBEW 993 BM/FS Jim Bicknell

IBEW, Special Days

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If you're able to gather with your loved ones this Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this special day and its relevance to our lives as members of the IBEW. Thanksgiving is not just a time for turkey and pumpkin pie; it's a time to appreciate the blessings we have, especially our families and the quality of life we work hard to provide them.

Our union's core values have always emphasized the importance of solidarity and brotherhood. We come together to support one another in our workplaces, striving for fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security. Yet, we must never forget that the ultimate purpose of our work is to ensure a better life for our families.

Quality of life isn't just about material possessions; it's about the intangibles that make life truly meaningful. It's the warmth of a family dinner, the laughter of our children, and the moments shared with loved ones. It's having the time and resources to enjoy hobbies, pursue education, and contribute to our communities.

On this Thanksgiving, I urge you all to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and appreciate the precious moments we often take for granted. Spend quality time with your loved ones, share stories, and create lasting memories. Remember that our union's mission is not only about securing a better future for ourselves but also for our families.

As we count our blessings, let's also extend our gratitude to the extended IBEW family. Together, we've achieved remarkable successes, and our collective strength has paved the way for better wages, improved benefits, and safer working conditions. But never lose sight of the fact that our families are the reason we do what we do.

So, this Thanksgiving, let's reaffirm our commitment to family and quality of life. Let's cherish the moments we have with our loved ones, and let's continue to work hard, knowing that our efforts ultimately serve the well-being of those we hold dear.

Wishing you all a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving. Stay safe, stay strong, and may our union continue to be a force for positive change in our lives.

In solidarity,

Jim Bicknell BM/FS
