Two Northern BC Mines Recognized for Reclamation Work

Two northern BC Mines have been recognized for reclamation practices by the British Columbia Technical and Research Committee on Reclamation. Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad says this cements the province's reputation as a leader in sustainable resource development and environmental protection.

"The environmental standards we have in the province are some of the best in the world. A big part of that is reclamation work. When mines that have plans come forward, they have to put money aside and while operating and when they shut down, they have to leave the sites in as good shape as possible."
