Back in December 2025, our organizer James Olson had the opportunity to take part in the Yukon Federation of Labour 13th Triennial Convention in Whitehorse on December 6. I am a bit late getting this photo posted, but it is still worth sharing from an important event for the labour movement in the North.

During the convention, James served as a member of the Constitutional Resolutions Committee alongside newly elected YFL President Everett LeDoux, pictured on the right. Our committee reviewed proposed changes to the YFL Constitution and made recommendations to convention delegates on whether each resolution should be adopted or rejected. This work plays a key role in ensuring the Federation continues to reflect the needs and values of its affiliated unions and members.

This year’s convention also marked a major milestone, celebrating 45 years of the Yukon Federation of Labour. The YFL was chartered by the Canadian Labour Congress in 1980 and has spent decades advocating for workers’ rights, fair wages, and safe workplaces across the Yukon.

IBEW 993 is proud to be engaged in this work and to stand in solidarity with labour organizations across the country as we continue building a stronger, fairer future for working people.
